Manually harvested coffee, taking only Colombia and Caturra varieties, the coffee is taken to the storage hopper to be pulped immediately. It is then fermented for an average of 48 to 60 hours. The coffee is traditionally washed and finally it is dried in the sun for an average of 16 days.
The intention of this coffee is to be an everyday drinker that is familiar and at the same time outstanding. The Colombia Alma Negra has dark chocolate notes with exceptional sweetness and balance that is easy to drink any which way you prefer to brew it. In this area, the coffees are handcrafted by the coffee farmers' families.
Damien (Rival Bros Co-Founder) and Chris (Rival Bros Director of Coffee) were able to visit several producers that contribute to this blend in August of 2025. What they saw was producers who care deeply about their coffees and land and who want to share the results of their hard work.
