Apple picking, bonfires, s'mores and being a kid in October. For autumn, we built Champion to taste like the season feels: a sweet, comforting cup with plenty of depth.

The Coffees

Champion is always a blend of two coffees, and we rotate them with the seasons. Here's what's in the bag this fall.

Guatemala - La Huerta (Washed)
Farm: Finca La Bolsa

Region: La Libertad, Huehuetenango
Varietal: Red Caturra-Bourbon
Altitude: 1550 MASL

A lovely example of Huehuetenango coffee, decadently sweet with caramel and almond butter notes. La Huerta is a single lot from Finca La Bolsa, selected by Jonathan, our co-founder, and Chris, our Director of Coffee, on a visit to our partners at Vides58, our Guatemalan exporter.

Region: Lempira
Producers: Smallholders
Varietals: Lempira, Red Catuaí, Bourbon, Pacas, IHCAFE 90
Altitude: 1400-1750 MASL

A workhorse in our blends that keeps surprising us on the cupping table. Roasted one way, it brings fudge and chocolate. Roasted another, sweetness and red apple acidity. This fully washed, patio-dried coffee comes from small lots grown by Emiliano Reyes (El Cungual), Mariano de Jesús Ramírez (Quezaquire), Kellton Obed Urrutia Trejo (Las Minas), José Lázaro Pacheco Serrano (La Chorrera) and Juan Pascual (El Ocotal).

Coffee That Gives Back

Since launching Champion in late 2020, we've raised more than $56,000 for organizations supporting vulnerable communities.

$2 from every 12oz retail bag and every wholesale pound of Champion is donated, split equally between two areas of support.

Here at home: Gemma Services, our longstanding partner, supports children, youth and families throughout Greater Philadelphia through mental health services, foster care and adoption, education, prevention programs and residential care.

At origin: The other half supports initiatives in coffee-producing communities, connected to the relationships our coffee team builds through sourcing and travel to origin.

The idea hasn't changed: a coffee we're proud of, supporting meaningful work and the people and communities connected to Rival Bros.
