Peru, El Picorana - Christian Lavan



Finca El Picorana is owned and operated by producer Jose Christian Lavan Guerrero. Located in the San Ignacio, Cajamarca region of northern Peru its home to 3,500 coffee plants of mixed varietals, most notably Caturra and Typica. Once ripe these coffee cherries are depulped within the first two days of harvest then dry fermented 15 - 20 hours weather permitting, washed three times to remove any mucilage and dried on raised beds for 15 - 20 days. Described as sweet and fruity with a creamy mouthfeel this coffee is available in limited whole bean batches and by the cup in all cafe locations.

Tasting Notes / Profile: Juicy plum and blackberry to tropical fruits like pineapple, kiwi and passion fruit, there is much to discover in this cup. Rounded out with sugar cane sweetness and a hint of bergamot, this luxurious coffee is not to be missed.
